Aberdeen's Roo deadly on offense in 2-1 win against Bismarck

The Aberdeen Wings relied on the scoring touch of TJ Roo, who netted two goals, to beat the Bismarck Bobcats, 2-1.

Roo scored at 3:56 into the second period to make the score 1-0 Aberdeen and again while 17:40 into the third to make the score 2-1 Aberdeen.

Aberdeen was led by goalie Chad Catt, who finished with 45 saves while allowing one goal. Catt managed to improve on his goals against average, which stood at 1.71 prior to the game.

The Wings' penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on three Bismarck power plays. Aberdeen relied on a core group of players for most of its offense, as Erik Baskin, Jonathan Grebosky and Erik Gollenbeck took 19 of the team's 37 shots.

In addition, Aberdeen received assists from Ryan Cook and Kyle Haak, who each chipped in one.

Bismarck's offense rang up 46 shots on the Wings' net.

The Bobcats were led by Joonas Huovinen, who scored the team's only goal. Huovinen scored 7:14 into the third period to make the score 1-1. Brendan Harris assisted on the tally.

Aberdeen incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors. Aaron Nelson rejected 35 shots on goal for Bismarck. The Bobcats incurred four minutes in penalty time with two minors.
