Coulee Region rolls over Soo, 6-1

Omni Center    Fri, Nov 22, 2013

The Soo Eagles had trouble finding ways to stop the Coulee Region Chill, which beat Eagles, 6-1.

Coulee Region was led by goalie Adam Carlson, who finished with 27 saves while allowing one goal. The solid play of Carlson will be reflected in his goals against average, which pre-game was 2.11.

The Chill were led by Adam Lovick, who racked up one goal. Lovick scored on the power play 18:36 into the first period to make the score 2-0 Coulee Region. A slashing penalty on Kristofers Bindulis had put Coulee Region on the power play. Mac Jansen picked up the assist.

The Chill's penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on four Soo power plays. The 30 shots that Coulee Region put on net surpassed the Chill's average of 25.0 shots per game this season. Coulee Region found the back of the net more times than it usually has this season. This season, the Chill average 3.4 goals per contest.

In addition, Coulee Region received assists from Eddie Matsushima, who had two, Richard Zehnal, who had three, and Sean Kalbak and Ondrej Zehnal, who each chipped in one.
