The Kenai River Brown Bears relied on the sparkling performance of Kris Oldham in net to grab a 2-1 win against the MN Wilderness Wilderness.
By firing 37 shots on goal, the Brown Bears exceeded the 28.6 shots they average per game this year.
MN Wilderness' penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on seven Kenai River power plays.
The Wilderness were led by Jakob Romo, who scored the team's only goal. Romo scored on the power play 17:52 into the first period to make the score 1-0 MN Wilderness. MN Wilderness had gotten the advantage when Kenai River's Butcher was sent off for slashing. Terry Leibo picked up the assist.
The Brown Bears' Oldham stopped 27 shots out of the 28 that he faced. Kenai River incurred 12 minutes in penalty time with six minors. Kasimir Kaskisuo made 35 saves for the Wilderness on 37 shots. MN Wilderness incurred 14 minutes in penalty time with seven minors.
