Stefanos Lekkas stood on his head and made 40 saves to lead the Springfield Jr. Blues to a 4-1 victory over the Coulee Region Chill.

Springfield was sparked by Kevin Shand, who finished with one goal and one assist. Shand scored 9:27 into the third period to make the score 2-1 Springfield. Patrick Curry provided the assist.

The Jr. Blues forced their penalty killing units to work especially hard during the game, picking up seven minors and one major for 29 minutes in penalty time. Springfield had been averaging 13.0 minutes in penalties per game. The Jr. Blues stifled Coulee Region's power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. Springfield's defensemen played an important role in the offense, chipping in two goals. By firing 44 shots on goal, the Jr. Blues exceeded the 23.6 shots they average per game this year.

Springfield also got points from Curry, who also racked up one goal and two assists to lead the team in points. Springfield also had goals scored by Joseph Carney and Ji Young Li, who each put in one. In addition, Springfield received assists from Max Kalter, who had two and Nik Dotolo and Alex Baskakov, who each chipped in one.

The Chill racked up the penalties in the contest, and ended with eight minors and one major for 31 minutes in penalty time.
