Seidel's big game bests Janesville in 10-4 Port Huron win

The Port Huron Fighting Falcons' Matt Seidel had a big offensive game, scoring four goals and contributing two assists in his team's 10-4 win over the Janesville Jets.

Seidel's first goal came 14:28 into the first period. He then added goals at 7:37 into the third, at 7:47 into the third, and at 11:46 into the third.

Port Huron found the back of the net more times than it usually has this season. The Fighting Falcons have scored at the pace of 3.5 goals per game during the current campaign. Penalties took their toll on Port Huron, as its penalty kill unit let in two power play goals. The Fighting Falcons' offense was clicking better than usual and put 47 shots on goal during the game, better than the 25.7 shots per game they average.

Port Huron additionally got points from Austin Romzek, who also racked up two goals and one assist, Matt Jones, who also grabbed one goal and one assist, and Noah Batis, who also tallied one goal and one assist. Mitch Maloney also scored for Port Huron. More assists for Port Huron came via Zach Badalamenti, who had two, Joey Lindberg, who had three, and Niko Coffman, Jonathan Kopacka, Nick Horne, Vito Aluia, Bryan Yim, and Bryce VanHorn, who contributed one a piece.

Janesville kept Port Huron's goalie busy throughout the game, and Max Milosek made 29 saves on 33 shots.

The Jets were led by Drew Callin, who registered one goal and two assists. Callin scored 2:26 into the third period to make the score 5-3 Port Huron. Nick Petrella picked up the assist. Janesville also got points from Michael Louria, who also finished with one goal and one assist. Janesville also got a goal from Adam Winborg as well. In addition, Janesville received assists from Kyle Patava, who had one and Jordan Himley, who had three.

The Fighting Falcons incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors. Brock Kautz took the loss and made 36 saves before being replaced by Logan Halladay who made one save. Janesville incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors.
