Lone Star wins tough contest against Odessa, 3-2

The game between the Lone Star Brahmas and the Odessa Jackalopes was tight through all 60 minutes, but in the end Lone Star emerged with a 3-2 win.

The Brahmas gained the winning advantage on a goal by Anthony Mousseau 13:51 into the third period and hung on until final buzzer.

Lone Star was led by Mousseau, who had one goal.

The Brahmas excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in five chances. Team's forwards weren't the only contributers offensively, and the team's defensemen showcased their scoring touch with two goals. With 31 shots on target during the contest, Lone Star exceeded the 15.4 shots it averages per game this year.

Conner Enciso also scored for Lone Star. In addition, Lone Star received assists from RJ Salvato, who had three and Alexey Solovyev, Kellen Wasell, and Johan Steen, who contributed one a piece.

The 27 shots that Odessa put on net surpassed the Jackalopes' average of 20.7 shots per game this season.

Odessa was helped by Lukas Laub, who racked up one goal. Laub scored 13:34 into the second period to make the score 2-1 Lone Star. Derek Brown provided the assist. Odessa also got a goal from Alex Alger as well. Other players who recorded assists for Odessa were Joey Palumbo and Chad Guderian, who each chipped in one.

Jacob Nehama made 25 saves for the Brahmas on 27 shots. Lone Star incurred 12 minutes in penalty time with six minors. Yoshihiro Kuroiwa rejected 28 shots on goal for the Jackalopes. Odessa incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors.
