Catt leads Aberdeen to shutout victory over Minot

Chad Catt made 30 saves to complete the shutout and led the Aberdeen Wings to a 3-0 win against the Minot Minotauros.

Aberdeen was led by Bjorn Sigurdarson, who registered one goal. Sigurdarson scored on the power play 8:13 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Aberdeen. The Wings had taken the advantage when Minot's Jake Johnson got sent off for roughing. TJ Roo assisted on the tally.

Aberdeen's penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on five Minot power plays.

Aberdeen additionally got points from Jonathan Grebosky, who also tallied one goal and one assist. Drew Doyon also scored for Aberdeen. Other players who recorded assists for Aberdeen were Daniel Billett, who had one and Patrick Steinhauser, who had two.

The 30 shots that the Minotauros put on net surpassed Minot's average of 23.5 shots per game this season. The Minotauros' defensemen also contributed in the offensive zone and ended up with 16 shots between them. Minot found itself short handed often, totaling 26 penalty minutes and allowing five power plays.

The Minotauros were led by Scott Dornbrock, who took seven shots.

The Wings incurred 16 minutes in penalty time with eight minors. Minot's Merrick Madsen stopped 18 shots out of the 21 that he faced.
