MN Magicians uses shootout to best MN Wilderness, 3-2 (1-0 SO)

Three periods of regulation and an overtime session were not enough to settle matters as the MN Magicians Magicians defeated the MN Wilderness Wilderness in a shootout 3-2 (1-0 SO).

The two teams needed 22 turns to complete the shootout.

MN Magicians overcame a two-goal deficit to capture the victory. The Magicians fell behind 2-0 after a goal by MN Wilderness' Brent Bockman at 5:22 in the second period. MN Magicians tied things up at 2-2 on a goal by Tony Uglem at 19:15 in the third period.

Uglem had two goals to lead the Magicians to victory.

MN Magicians' offense was clicking better than usual and put 38 shots on goal during the game, better than the 27.5 shots per game it averages.

MN Magicians also got points from Nicholas Kuchera, who also registered one goal and one assist. In addition, MN Magicians received assists from Kyle Krueger, who had one.

The Wilderness put up an impenetrable defensive front on the penalty kill, and did not allow the Magicians to score on any of their four power plays.

MN Wilderness additionally got points from John May, who also grabbed one goal and one assist. Other players who recorded assists for MN Wilderness were Darian Romanko, who had one and Jakob Romo, who had two.

MN Magicians' Atte Tolvanen stopped 25 shots out of the 27 that he faced. The Magicians incurred 20 minutes in penalty time with five minors. Kasimir Kaskisuo made 35 saves for MN Wilderness on 37 shots. The Wilderness incurred 14 minutes in penalty time with seven minors.
