Amarillo penalty kill dominates in 4-0 defeat of Odessa

The Amarillo Bulls, which found themselves down a man often, weathered the Odessa Jackalopes' power play opportunities and emerged with a 4-0 victory.

Amarillo was sparked by Ben Jentsch, who racked up one goal. Jentsch scored 22 seconds into the second period to make the score 1-0 Amarillo.

The Bulls excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in six chances. Amarillo featured an improved defense during the game. The Bulls average 3.0 goals allowed per game. With 46 shots on target during the contest, Amarillo exceeded the 31.3 shots it averages per game this year.

Amarillo also got points from Mike Davis, who also grabbed one goal and one assist to lead the team in points. Cody Gylling also scored for Amarillo. In addition, Amarillo received assists from Adem Arifi, Tyler Gernhofer, Carter Penzien, Brady Ferguson, and Matt Sieckhaus, who each chipped in one.

Odessa was led by Jake Kreutzer, who took three shots.

Paul Berrafato rejected 19 shots on goal for the Bulls. Amarillo incurred 14 minutes in penalty time with seven minors. Eric Hancock recorded 42 saves for the Jackalopes. Odessa ended with 11 minutes in penalty time with three minors and one major.
