Wichita Falls falls to Coulee Region in overtime, 4-3 (OT)

The Coulee Region Chill pulled out a 4-3 (OT) overtime victory over the Wichita Falls Wildcats on a clutch goal by Richard Zehnal.

Coulee Region overcame a two-goal deficit to capture the victory. The Chill fell behind 2-0 after a power play goal by Wichita Falls' Ben Kucera at 18:23 in the first period. Coulee Region tied things up at 3-3 on a goal by John Severson at 2:08 in the third period.

The Chill were led by Zehnal, who registered one goal. Zehnal scored 1:01 into overtime to make the score 4-3 Coulee Region.

Coulee Region was often in penalty trouble, totaling six minors and one major for 37 minutes in penalty time. The total exceeded the 20.0 minutes per game the Chill had been spending in the box.

Coulee Region also got points from Jesse Tredinnick, who also had one goal and one assist to lead the team in points. James McGing also scored for Coulee Region. Other players who recorded assists for Coulee Region were Griff Jeszka, who had one.

The Wildcats excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in three chances. Wichita Falls kept Coulee Region's goalie busy throughout the game, and Blake Cates made 31 saves on 34 shots.

Wichita Falls also got a goal from Colin Staub as well. More assists for Wichita Falls came via Sam Pzazza, Jake Townsend, and Kyle Bauman, who each chipped in one.

For the Chill, Justin Holliday was ejected from the game. David Zevnik made 23 saves for the Wildcats on 27 shots. Wichita Falls totaled 13 minutes in penalty time with four minors and one major and went 1-for-5 on the power play.
