Huge game by Medeiros boosts Omaha AAA 18U over Phoenix Firebirds 18U, 9-3

Omaha AAA 18U's Nathan Medeiros had a big offensive game, scoring two goals and contributing one assist in his team's 9-3 win over Phoenix Firebirds 18U.

Medeiros found the back of the net 15:59 into the first period to make the score 3-1 Omaha AAA 18U and again while 5:49 into the third to make the score 4-2 Omaha AAA 18U.

Omaha AAA 18U stifled Phoenix Firebirds 18U's power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. Omaha AAA 18U kept Phoenix Firebirds 18U's goalie busy throughout the game, and Cooper Johnston made 24 saves on 33 shots. Omaha AAA 18U surpassed its usual scoring output this season. Omaha AAA 18U averages 4.7 goals per game. Omaha AAA 18U got an offensive boost from its blueliners, who contributed three goals during the game.
