Pursuit of Excellence 18U survives Omaha AAA 18U comeback, wins 4-2

Omaha AAA 18U tried to dig itself out of a four-goal hole, but Pursuit of Excellence 18U held on for a 4-2 victory.

Pursuit of Excellence 18U made the score 4-0 on a goal by Tyler Benson at 15:02 in the second period, and Omaha AAA 18U got as close as 4-2 when Nathan Medeiros scored 16:41 into the third period.

Brandon Duhaime had two goals and two assists to lead Pursuit of Excellence 18U. Duhaime scored the first of his two goals at 11:27 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Pursuit of Excellence 18U. Benson picked up the assist. Duhaime's next tally made the score 3-0 Pursuit of Excellence 18U with 4:03 left in the first period. Benson provided the assist.

Pursuit of Excellence 18U stifled Omaha AAA 18U's power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. Pursuit of Excellence 18U could not stay out of the penalty box, as the team accrued 28 minutes in penalties during the game.

Pursuit of Excellence 18U additionally got points from Benson, who also registered one goal and three assists and Hunter Zandee, who also had one goal and one assist. More assists for Pursuit of Excellence 18U came via Zack Andrusiak, who had one.
