Pursuit of Excellence 18U uses shootout to best San Jose Jr. Sharks 18U, 4-3

Three periods of regulation and an overtime session were not enough to settle matters as Pursuit of Excellence 18U defeated San Jose Jr. Sharks 18U in a shootout 4-3.

The shootout featured 10 attempts between both teams.

Pursuit of Excellence 18U came back from a one-goal deficit to capture the victory. Pursuit of Excellence 18U trailed 3-2 after a goal by San Jose Jr. Sharks 18U's Corey Semmelmayer at 13:40 in the second period. Pursuit of Excellence 18U knotted things up at 3-3 on a goal by Konnor Madsen at 8:58 in the third period.

San Jose Jr. Sharks 18U was unable to stop Pursuit of Excellence 18U from sending pucks towards the net, and Pursuit of Excellence 18U eventually piled up 35 shots on goal.

Pursuit of Excellence 18U was helped by Jarod Houde, who registered one goal. Houde scored 10:44 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Pursuit of Excellence 18U.
