Esmark Stars 18U blows out Cleveland Jr. Lumberjacks 18U, 5-1

Esmark Stars 18U had a three-goal lead after two periods and cruised the rest of the way en route to a 5-1 win over Cleveland Jr. Lumberjacks 18U.

Cleveland Jr. Lumberjacks 18U's seven penalties came back to haunt it, as Cleveland Jr. Lumberjacks 18U let up four goals while on the penalty kill.

Esmark Stars 18U was sparked by Adam Alavi, who tallied one goal. Alavi scored on the power play 9:34 into the first period to make the score 2-1 Esmark Stars 18U. Esmark Stars 18U earned a power play opportunity when Ethan Meier was put in the box for holding. Troy Double provided the assist.

Esmark Stars 18U's penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on four Cleveland Jr. Lumberjacks 18U power plays. Esmark Stars 18U forced Cleveland Jr. Lumberjacks 18U goalie Anthony Yamnitsky to work between the pipes, taking 35 shots.

Esmark Stars 18U also got points from Tristan Ramage, who also registered one goal and two assists to lead the team in points and David Polinski, who also racked up one goal and one assist. Esmark Stars 18U also got a goal from Tanner Gilliland as well. Other players who recorded assists for Esmark Stars 18U were Brendon Zack, who had two and Jacob Worcester, Kyle Cunningham, Bryton Tomko, and Carmen Dalesandro, who contributed one a piece.

Cleveland Jr. Lumberjacks 18U did not challenge the opposing netminder, only getting 14 shots on net to force 13 saves.

Cleveland Jr. Lumberjacks 18U was led by Jason Fritsche, who scored the team's only goal. Fritsche scored 3:35 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Cleveland Jr. Lumberjacks 18U. Alex Mitionis assisted on the tally.

Esmark Stars 18U's Joseph Recktenwald stopped 13 shots out of the 14 that he faced. Esmark Stars 18U incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors. Yamnitsky rejected 30 shots on goal for Cleveland Jr. Lumberjacks 18U. Cleveland Jr. Lumberjacks 18U incurred 14 minutes in penalty time with seven minors.
