Anaheim Jr. Ducks 18U holds on for 4-3 win against San Jose Jr. Sharks 18U

San Jose Jr. Sharks 18U tried its best to erase a three-goal deficit, but Anaheim Jr. Ducks 18U would not be denied the victory and hung on to win, 4-3.

A goal by Connor Reed put Anaheim Jr. Ducks 18U up 4-1 in the third period, but San Jose Jr. Sharks 18U pulled to within one on Mick Nisbet's tally 16:22 into the third period.

Anaheim Jr. Ducks 18U put up an impenetrable defensive front on the penalty kill, and did not allow San Jose Jr. Sharks 18U to score on any of its five power plays.

Anaheim Jr. Ducks 18U was led by Paul Boutoussov, who tallied two goals and one assist. Boutoussov scored the first of his two goals at 10:23 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Anaheim Jr. Ducks 18U. Riley Hummitsch provided the assist. Boutoussov's next tally made the score 3-1 Anaheim Jr. Ducks 18U with 6:44 left in the second period. Hummitsch picked up the assist. Anaheim Jr. Ducks 18U also got points from Reed, who also racked up one goal and one assist. Anaheim Jr. Ducks 18U also got a goal from Alex Kalau as well. Other players who recorded assists for Anaheim Jr. Ducks 18U were Matthew McGrew, Jake Fricks, and Evan Nyhus, who contributed one a piece.

Zakery Galambos also scored for San Jose Jr. Sharks 18U. In addition, San Jose Jr. Sharks 18U received assists from Jack Cleaver, Robert Durst, Robert Trujillo, Austin Elchinoff, Zachary Lloyd, and Malthe Helt, who each chipped in one.

Anaheim Jr. Ducks 18U's Rock Boynton stopped 26 shots out of the 29 that he faced. Anaheim Jr. Ducks 18U incurred 22 minutes in penalty time with six minors. Sean Tannenbaum rejected 25 shots on goal for San Jose Jr. Sharks 18U. San Jose Jr. Sharks 18U incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors.
