Omaha AAA 18U's Kreuger deadly on offense in 2-0 win against Atlanta Fire 18U

Omaha AAA 18U relied on the scoring touch of Mason Kreuger, who netted two goals, to beat Atlanta Fire 18U, 2-0.

Kreuger scored on the power play at 4:48 into the second period to make the score 1-0 Omaha AAA 18U and again while on the power play 7:30 into the third to make the score 2-0 Omaha AAA 18U.

Atlanta Fire 18U's power play was ineffective against Omaha AAA 18U's penalty kill, which allowed zero goals while shorthanded.

Omaha AAA 18U put up an impenetrable defensive front on the penalty kill, and did not allow Atlanta Fire 18U to score on any of its eight power plays.

In addition, Omaha AAA 18U received assists from Nathan Medeiros, who had two and Tyler Doyle and Ryan Cagnoni, who contributed one a piece.

Omaha AAA 18U's defense shut down Atlanta Fire 18U's forwards for much of the game, and Atlanta Fire 18U got off only 13 shots during the contest.

Justin Ketola recorded 13 saves for Omaha AAA 18U. Omaha AAA 18U incurred 30 minutes in penalty time with five minors. Atlanta Fire 18U's Eric Norris stopped 27 shots out of the 29 that he faced. Atlanta Fire 18U incurred 16 minutes in penalty time with eight minors.
