Early goals doom Detroit Falcons 16U, falls to California Titans 16U, 5-0

California Titans 16U opened up a four-goal lead after the first period and did not look back en route to a 5-0 over Detroit Falcons 16U.

California Titans 16U was led by Jarrett Sturtz, who registered one goal and one assist. Sturtz scored 3:30 into the first period to make the score 1-0 California Titans 16U. Andy Dunn picked up the assist.

California Titans 16U put up an impenetrable defensive front on the penalty kill, and did not allow Detroit Falcons 16U to score on any of its four power plays. Detroit Falcons 16U was unable to stop California Titans 16U from sending pucks towards the net, and California Titans 16U eventually piled up 35 shots on goal.

California Titans 16U also got points from Jared Turcotte, who also grabbed one goal and one assist. California Titans 16U also got a goal from Evan Somoza as well. In addition, California Titans 16U received assists from Cody Key, who had two and Warren Berg and Austin Pickford, who each chipped in one.

Detroit Falcons 16U could not stay out of the penalty box, as the team accrued 34 minutes in penalties during the game.

Ryan OToole recorded 15 saves for California Titans 16U. California Titans 16U incurred 18 minutes in penalty time with four minors. Detroit Falcons 16U's Brandon Davison stopped 30 shots out of the 35 that he faced.
