Lansing Capitals 16U rips West Michigan Hounds 16U, 5-0

Lansing Capitals 16U had a three-goal lead after two periods and cruised the rest of the way en route to a 5-0 win over West Michigan Hounds 16U.

Lansing Capitals 16U was led by Adam Goodsir, who racked up one goal and one assist. Goodsir scored on the power play 6:37 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Lansing Capitals 16U. Lansing Capitals 16U had gained a power play chance when Seth Blakeslee was whistled for boarding. Josh Kirsch provided the assist.

Lansing Capitals 16U excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in four chances. Lansing Capitals 16U forced West Michigan Hounds 16U goalie Alex Wilder to work between the pipes, taking 38 shots.

Lansing Capitals 16U additionally got points from Max Trucks, who also registered one goal and one assist, Caleb Wortz, who also tallied one goal and one assist, Kirsch, who also had one goal and one assist, and Ethan Stutzman, who also racked up one goal and one assist. In addition, Lansing Capitals 16U received assists from Noah Pipper, Ryan Hein, and Nicholas Richards, who contributed one a piece.

West Michigan Hounds 16U did not challenge the opposing netminder, only getting 12 shots on net to force 12 saves. West Michigan Hounds 16U's penalty kill unit could not stop Lansing Capitals 16U's power play, which converted on three of four opportunities.
