The game between the Minnesota Flying Aces and the Twin City Steel was tight through all 60 minutes, but in the end Minnesota emerged with a 4-3 win. Neither team gained more than a two-goal lead, and Nick Tolin's goal in the third period proved to be the difference maker. The Flying Aces pulled out the victory even though they were hit with 19 penalty minutes. Minnesota was led by Tolin, who finished with one goal. Tolin scored 2:18 into the third period to make the score 4-3 Minnesota. Jake Mullendore picked up the assist. The Flying Aces' offense rang up 35 shots on Twin City's net. Minnesota additionally got points from Eric Cruickshank, who also grabbed one goal and one assist and Mullendore, who also had one goal and one assist to lead the team in points. Anthony Martinez also scored for Minnesota. In addition, Minnesota received assists from Blake Anderson, Bradee Thompson, Vladimir Marchenko, and AJ Gullickson, who each chipped in one.
