The Cleveland Jr. Lumberjacks had a two-goal lead after two periods and cruised the rest of the way en route to a 5-1 win over the Michigan Mountain Cats.

Tyler Dalton had a great game for Cleveland, netting two goals. Dalton found the back of the net 10:57 into the first period to make the score 2-0 Cleveland and again while 1:17 into the second to make the score 3-0 Cleveland.

Michigan was unable to stop the Jr. Lumberjacks from sending pucks towards the net, and Cleveland eventually piled up 51 shots on goal. The Jr. Lumberjacks got their opportunities on the power play, but did not convert any of their nine chances.

Cleveland additionally got points from Stefan Horgas, who also racked up one goal and one assist and Mike Palasics, who also grabbed one goal and two assists to lead the team in points. Alex Buban also scored for Cleveland. More assists for Cleveland came via Jared Johnson, who had two and Ryan Wandzel, Avery Huibregtse, and Matt Wipper, who contributed one a piece.

The Mountain Cats stifled Cleveland's power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man.

Michigan was led by Max Vance, who scored the team's only goal. Vance scored on the power play 18:59 into the second period to make the score 3-1 Cleveland. The Mountain Cats earned a power play opportunity when Nick Balavich was put in the box for cross checking. John Arms assisted on the tally.

Tyler Jansen recorded 22 saves for the Jr. Lumberjacks. Cleveland incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors. Michigan's Walker Bass stopped 46 shots out of the 51 that he faced. The Mountain Cats totaled 19 minutes in penalty time with seven minors and one major and went 1-for-3 on the power play.
