xTwin City falls to yNorth Iowa in overtime, 5-4 (OT)

The yNorth Iowa Bulls pulled out a 5-4 (OT) overtime victory over the xTwin City Steel on a clutch goal by Matt Kroska.

yNorth Iowa overcame a three-goal deficit to capture the victory. The Bulls trailed 3-0 after a power play goal by xTwin City's Jace Childs at 57 seconds in the second period. yNorth Iowa tied things up at 4-4 on a goal by Conor Jonasson at 18:01 in the third period.

Kroska was all over the ice for the Bulls, as he tallied two goals in the win. Kroska found the back of the net 16:10 into the second period to make the score 3-2 xTwin City and again while 48 seconds into the fourth to make the score 5-4 yNorth Iowa.

yNorth Iowa forced the Steel goalie Jackson Germaine to work between the pipes, taking 49 shots. Team's forwards weren't the only contributers offensively, and the team's defensemen showcased their scoring touch with two goals.

yNorth Iowa additionally got points from Chancie Hanson, who also registered one goal and one assist. yNorth Iowa also got a goal from Joe Kleven as well. More assists for yNorth Iowa came via Logan Murphy, who had two and Zach Jones, Richie Marenis, Dominik Florian, Ian Penvose, Brandon Anderson, and Trey Gardner, who each chipped in one.

xTwin City excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in four chances.

Others who scored for xTwin City included Cory Johnson and Dylan Lincoln, who scored one goal each. In addition, xTwin City received assists from Sam Basich, who had two and Tyler Lodin, Jon Plaszcz, Ben Ihrie, Jackson Bond, Isaac Hale, and Chase Myers-Beck, who contributed one a piece.

Chris Amsden recorded 21 saves for the Bulls. yNorth Iowa incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors. Jackson Germaine made 44 saves for the Steel on 49 shots. xTwin City incurred 20 minutes in penalty time with five minors.
