Minnesota falls to Breezy Point in overtime, 2-1 (OT)

The Breezy Point North Stars pulled out a 2-1 (OT) overtime victory over the Minnesota Flying Aces on a clutch goal by Crosby Steen.

Breezy Point's Joey Bergquist was a brick wall in net, as he came up with 28 saves and let only one puck past him. Bergquist certainly lowered his goals against average, which was 5.38 entering the contest.

The North Stars were paced by Steen, who grabbed one goal. Steen scored 1:58 into overtime to make the score 2-1 Breezy Point. Joe Laskero provided the assist.

Breezy Point excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in three chances. The North Stars' offense rang up 38 shots on Minnesota's net.

Breezy Point also got points from Laskero, who also registered one goal and one assist to lead the team in points. Other players who recorded assists for Breezy Point were Blair Seitz and Kyle Whipple, who each chipped in one.

The Flying Aces stifled Breezy Point's power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man.

Minnesota was led by Bradee Thompson, who scored the team's only goal. Thompson scored 17:27 into the second period to make the score 1-0 Minnesota. Anthony Martinez assisted on the tally.

The North Stars incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors. The Flying Aces' Jaxson Gosnell stopped 36 shots out of the 38 that he faced. Minnesota incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors.
