Cleveland falls to Cincinnati after surprising comeback

Undaunted by a two-goal deficit, the Cincinnati Swords battled back to claim a 3-2 victory over the Cleveland Jr. Lumberjacks.

Cincinnati never led in the game until netting the game winner. The Swords was down 2-0 after a power play goal by Cleveland's Jared Johnson at 4:18 in the second period. Cincinnati knotted things up at 2-2 on a power play goal by Hunter Schneider at 13:47 in the third period. The Swords netted the game winner at 19:38 in the third period on a goal by Schneider.

Schneider had a great game for Cincinnati, netting two goals.

The Jr. Lumberjacks were unable to stop the Swords from sending pucks towards the net, and Cincinnati eventually piled up 39 shots on goal.

Cincinnati also got points from Nikita Korotkov, who also racked up one goal and one assist. Other players who recorded assists for Cincinnati were Aaron Storch, Henry Smith, Robert Gentile, and Emil Sundstrom, who each chipped in one.

Cleveland forced the Swords goalie Alec Rounds to work between the pipes, taking 35 shots.

More assists for Cleveland came via Nick Balavich, who had two and Avery Huibregtse and Stefan Horgas, who contributed one a piece.

Cincinnati's Rounds stopped 33 shots out of the 35 that he faced. The Swords incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors. Joseph Moza made 36 saves for the Jr. Lumberjacks on 39 shots. Cleveland incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors.
