Jeremy Szczurek gave the Chicago Junior Bulldogs a 5-4 (OT) victory over the Minnesota Flying Aces when he scored 4:59 into the extra period.

Chicago came back from a four-goal deficit to capture the victory. The Junior Bulldogs trailed 4-0 after a goal by Minnesota's Nick Tolin at 17:25 in the second period. Chicago knotted things up at 4-4 on a goal by Ryan Maksimovic at 7:38 in the third period.

The Junior Bulldogs were sparked by Szczurek, who registered one goal and one assist.

Chicago forced the Flying Aces goalie Mike Stumpf to work between the pipes, taking 46 shots.

Chicago also got points from Matt Kostopoulos, who also registered two goals and one assist. Toms Taurins also scored for Chicago. In addition, Chicago received assists from Luke Morin, who had three and Trevor Foley, Daniel Marotz, and Jarret Walt, who contributed one a piece.

Minnesota racked up the penalties in the contest, and ended with five minors and two majors for 30 minutes in penalty time. The Flying Aces had been averaging 18.0 minutes in penalties per game. The Junior Bulldogs were unable to stop Minnesota from sending pucks towards the net, and the Flying Aces eventually piled up 39 shots on goal.

Minnesota was helped by Bradee Thompson, who finished with one goal and one assist. Thompson scored 10:56 into the first period to make the score 2-0 Minnesota. Eric Cruickshank assisted on the tally. Minnesota also got a goal from Anthony Martinez as well. Other players who recorded assists for Minnesota were Tyler Leverty, Blake Anderson, Tyler Gallagher, Justin Nielsen, and Jake Mullendore, who each chipped in one.

Michael Krch made 35 saves for Chicago on 39 shots. The Junior Bulldogs totaled 15 minutes in penalty time with five minors and one major and went 1-for-6 on the power play. Stumpf rejected 41 shots on goal for the Flying Aces. Minnesota registered one goal on five power play opportunities.
