McGlynn's hat trick boosts St. Louis over Battle Creek, 9-0

The Battle Creek Revolution could not stop the St. Louis Jr. Blues' Andrew McGlynn, who tallied a hat trick in a 9-0 win.

McGlynn notched his first tally 8:47 into the first period. He then added goals at 10:10 into the second and at 18:20 into the third.

The game was close after the first frame, but St. Louis banged in four goals during the second period to put the victory out of reach for Battle Creek.

The Jr. Blues' defensive play was more effective than usual against the Revolution. St. Louis gives up 2.9 goals on average per game. Battle Creek was unable to stop the Jr. Blues from sending pucks towards the net, and St. Louis eventually piled up 57 shots on goal. The Jr. Blues bested their season scoring average. St. Louis averages 4.0 goals per game.

St. Louis also got points from Tommy Heinzman, who also grabbed two goals and three assists, Zane OBryan, who also registered one goal and one assist, and Mike Lozano, who also had one goal and two assists. Christian Argyros also scored for St. Louis. Other players who recorded assists for St. Louis were Andrew Kovacich, who had two and Adam Roeder, Chris Brown, Simon Koscielski, and Jake Wynd, who each chipped in one.

The Revolution did not challenge the opposing netminder, only getting 11 shots on net to force 11 saves.

Cooper Cothran made 11 saves for the Jr. Blues on 11 shots. St. Louis totaled 19 minutes in penalty time with two minors and one major and went 1-for-2 on the power play. For the Jr. Blues, Alexander Carlsson was ejected from the game. Tyler Babinski rejected 48 shots on goal for Battle Creek. The Revolution incurred 26 minutes in penalty time with three minors.
