Rounds stymies Chicago, Cincinnati wins 3-1

Alec Rounds had a standout game with 27 saves, and the Cincinnati Swords beat the Chicago Junior Bulldogs 3-1.

Cincinnati was led by Nikita Korotkov, who grabbed one goal. Korotkov scored on the power play 12:24 into the second period to make the score 2-1 Cincinnati. The Swords had gained a power play chance when Ryan Maksimovic was whistled for tripping. Devin Fracassi provided the assist.

Cincinnati also got points from RJ Marshall, who also registered one goal and one assist and Thomas Clayton, who also racked up one goal and one assist. Other players who recorded assists for Cincinnati were Henry Smith, who had one and Nick Haase, who had two.

Chicago was held below its usual level of production. The Junior Bulldogs put an average of 4.2 pucks into the net per game.

Chicago was led by Matt Blaszkiewicz, who scored the team's only goal. Blaszkiewicz scored 47 seconds into the second period to make the score 1-1. Luke Morin assisted on the tally.

Cincinnati incurred four minutes in penalty time with two minors. The Junior Bulldogs' Joey Garapolo stopped 21 shots out of the 23 that he faced. Chicago incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors.
