The Michigan Mountain Cats tried to dig themselves out of a three-goal hole, but the Metro Jets held on for a 4-2 victory. A goal by Josh Beleski put Metro up 4-1 in the second period, but Michigan pulled to within two on Abram Prince's tally 6:25 into the third period. Linville Lucas had two goals to lead the Jets to victory. Lucas scored at 11:59 into the first period to make the score 2-0 Metro and again while 25 seconds into the second to make the score 3-0 Metro. Metro kept the Mountain Cats' goalie busy throughout the game, and Walker Bass made 35 saves on 39 shots. Alex Holm also scored for Metro. More assists for Metro came via Carter Reid, who had two, Brad Hepler, who had three, and Adam Lockner and James Roznowski, who each chipped in one. Michigan also got points from Guy Soulliere, who also registered one goal and one assist. Other players who recorded assists for Michigan were Max Vance, who had two. Trevor Kalinowski recorded 19 saves for the Jets. Metro incurred 16 minutes in penalty time with three minors. Michigan incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors.
