The Wisconsin Whalers relied on the sparkling performance of David Volkmann in net to grab a 5-1 win against the Breezy Point North Stars.

Wisconsin was paced by Tim Tarvis, who tallied one goal. Tarvis scored 4:34 into the second period to make the score 2-1 Wisconsin. Zack Johnson provided the assist.

The Whalers put up an impenetrable defensive front on the penalty kill, and did not allow Breezy Point to score on any of its five power plays. The North Stars were unable to stop Wisconsin from sending pucks towards the net, and the Whalers eventually piled up 46 shots on goal. Team's forwards weren't the only contributers offensively, and the team's defensemen showcased their scoring touch with two goals.

Wisconsin additionally got points from Jason Hoehn, who also racked up one goal and one assist and Kaleb Morley, who also grabbed one goal and one assist. Others who scored for Wisconsin included Clayton Janecke and Brett Gates, who each put in one. Other players who recorded assists for Wisconsin were Dan Addie, who had two and Easton Halbert and Nolan Kepler, who contributed one a piece.

Breezy Point's offense rang up 31 shots on Wisconsin's net.

The North Stars were led by Blake Neumann, who scored the team's only goal. Neumann scored 13:57 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Breezy Point. Scott Schroeder assisted on the tally.

The Whalers' Volkmann stopped 30 shots out of the 31 that he faced. Wisconsin incurred 12 minutes in penalty time with six minors. Joey Bergquist made 41 saves for Breezy Point on 45 shots. The North Stars incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors.
