Michigan beats Toledo 1-0 as Bass gains shutout

Walker Bass was superb between the pipes for the Michigan Mountain Cats, as he did not allow a goal in a 1-0 victory over the Toledo Cherokee.

John Arms's game-winning tally was the game's only goal. It came at 10:43 in the second period. Michigan had gotten the advantage when Toledo's Dominic Pisanti was sent off for holding. Guy Soulliere picked up the assist.

The Mountain Cats were paced by Arms, who grabbed one goal.

Michigan excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in five chances.

Other players who recorded assists for Michigan were Max Vance, who had one.

The Cherokee did not reach the goal total they have come to expect this season. Toledo puts an average of 2.8 pucks into the net per game. The Mountain Cats were unable to stop the Cherokee from sending pucks towards the net, and Toledo eventually piled up 44 shots on goal.

Bass recorded 44 saves for Michigan. The Mountain Cats incurred 14 minutes in penalty time with seven minors. The Cherokee's Nate Gay stopped 27 shots out of the 28 that he faced. Toledo incurred 14 minutes in penalty time with seven minors.
