Peoria rolls over Battle Creek, 7-1

The Peoria Mustangs had a three-goal lead after two periods and cruised the rest of the way en route to a 7-1 win over the Battle Creek Revolution.

Peoria was paced by Chance Homerin, who had one goal. Homerin scored on the power play 16:03 into the first period to make the score 2-1 Peoria. The Mustangs had gotten the advantage when Battle Creek's Blake Thompson was sent off for kneeing. Gage VanOrder picked up the assist.

Peoria kept the Revolution's goalie busy throughout the game, and Zach Kooi made 50 saves on 57 shots.

Peoria also got points from Marshall Gevers, who also registered one goal and one assist, Joe Lampman, who also finished with one goal and one assist, and VanOrder, who also grabbed one goal and one assist. Peoria also got a goal from Sam Turner as well. In addition, Peoria received assists from Nathan Chasteen, who had four and Austin Ziakas, Jordan Wright, Blake Ortman, Nick Conner, and Joshua Hart, who each chipped in one.

Battle Creek could not stay out of the penalty box, as the team accrued 24 minutes in penalties during the game.

The Revolution were led by Austin Hill, who scored the team's only goal. Hill scored 8:27 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Battle Creek. Eric Tucker provided the assist.

Chance Kremer rejected 23 shots on goal for the Mustangs. Peoria incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors. Battle Creek registered zero goals on two power play opportunities.
