The Breezy Point North Stars could not stop the Granite City Lumberjacks' Aidan Verbeke, who tallied a hat trick in a 9-2 win. Verbeke notched his first tally 42 seconds into the first period. He then added goals at 4:40 into the second and at 15:01 into the third.The game was close after the first frame, but Granite City banged in five goals during the second period to put the victory out of reach for Breezy Point. The Lumberjacks pulled out the victory even though they were hit with 18 penalty minutes. Granite City kept the North Stars' goalie busy throughout the game, and Joey Bergquist made 46 saves on 55 shots. The Lumberjacks' goal total was higher than their season average. Granite City averages 5.6 goals per game. Granite City also got points from Christian Mohs, who also had one goal and one assist. Others who scored for Granite City included Zach Voss, Brady Berhardson, Mitchell Gwost, Hunter Schneider, and Aaron Storch, who scored one goal each. In addition, Granite City received assists from Drew Otto, who had four, Luc Richardson and David Horsmann, who each chipped in one, and Morgan Martelle and Zac Sikich, who contributed two a piece. Breezy Point could not stay out of the penalty box, as the team accrued 24 minutes in penalties during the game. The North Stars were led by Blair Seitz, who tallied one goal. Seitz scored 47 seconds into the second period to make the score 1-1. Crosby Steen picked up the assist. Breezy Point also got a goal from Bo Borowski as well. More assists for Breezy Point came via Joe Laskero and Jason Pischke, who each chipped in one. Scott Murray rejected 28 shots on goal for the Lumberjacks. Granite City registered three goals on six power play opportunities. Breezy Point registered one goal on eight power play opportunities.
