Alex Holm gave the Metro Jets a 6-5 (OT) victory over the Minnesota Flying Aces when he scored 2:52 into the extra period. Metro overcame a two-goal deficit to capture the victory. The Jets was down 4-2 after a goal by Minnesota's Eric Cruickshank at 14:23 in the second period. Metro tied things up at 5-5 on a goal by Brad Hepler at 19:27 in the third period. The Jets' offense rang up 51 shots on the Flying Aces' net. Metro surpassed its usual scoring output this season. The Jets have scored at the pace of 2.8 goals per game during the current campaign. Metro's defensemen played an important role in the offense, chipping in three goals. The Jets were helped by Cody Jones, who registered two goals. Jones scored the first of his two goals at 12:08 into the second period to make the score 3-2 Minnesota. Holm picked up the assist. Jones' next tally made the score 4-3 Minnesota with 19:25 left in the third period. Matt Dempsey assisted on the tally. The Jets totaled 11 minutes in penalty time with three minors and one major and went 2-for-8 on the power play. Jaxson Gosnell rejected 45 shots on goal for the Flying Aces. Minnesota totaled 19 minutes in penalty time with seven minors and one major and went 1-for-3 on the power play.
