Krueger's goals lift North Iowa to 10-2 victory over Toledo

Kyle Krueger had two goals to lead the North Iowa Bulls to a 10-2 victory over the Toledo Cherokee.

Krueger's tallies came at 1:31 into the second period to make the score 3-2 North Iowa and on the power play 7:45 into the second to make the score 4-2 North Iowa.

North Iowa kept Toledo's goalie busy throughout the game, and Clay Horvath made 37 saves on 47 shots. The Bulls found the back of the net more times than it usually has this season. North Iowa averages 6.6 goals per game. The Bulls was effective with a man advantage, and put in two goals while on the power play.

North Iowa additionally got points from Richie Marenis, who also had two goals and two assists to lead the team in points, Matt Kroska, who also racked up one goal and two assists, Matthew Fosdick, who also tallied one goal and one assist, and Timothy Santopoalo, who also grabbed one goal and two assists. Zach Jones also scored for North Iowa. More assists for North Iowa came via Chris Howard, who had two and Sam Naegele, Kurt Halbach, Tyler Richison, Ian Penvose, Taylor Brown, Dylan Zins, Trey Gardner, and Joey Sundgren, who each chipped in one.

The Cherokee were helped by Tyler Nienow, who finished with one goal. Nienow scored 9:29 into the first period to make the score 1-1. Xavier Sudlow provided the assist. Toledo also got a goal from Zachary Armstrong as well. In addition, Toledo received assists from Tyler Zalecki, who had one.

Jared Schletty made 14 saves for North Iowa on 16 shots. The Bulls incurred four minutes in penalty time with two minors. Toledo incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors.
