North Iowa downs Cincinnati, 6-1

Chris Howard grabbed two points to lead the North Iowa Bulls to a 6-1 victory over the Cincinnati Swords.

North Iowa's offense rang up 33 shots on Cincinnati's net. The defensemen of the Bulls were also effective in the Swords' zone, and came away with two goals.

North Iowa also got points from Ian Penvose, who also registered one goal and one assist. Others who scored for North Iowa included Ron Lindgren, Nick Eytcheson, Brandon Anderson, and Dylan Zins, who scored one goal each. More assists for North Iowa came via Richie Marenis, Austin Jackson, Timothy Santopoalo, and Dylan Parker, who each chipped in one and Zach Jones and Matt Kroska, who contributed two a piece.

Cincinnati's offense operated below it season average. The Swords put an average of 3.3 pucks into the net per game.

Cincinnati was led by Nicholas Riscossa, who scored the team's only goal. Riscossa scored on the power play 1:03 into the third period to make the score 3-1 North Iowa. The Swords had gotten the advantage when North Iowa's Lindgren was sent off for tripping. Thomas Clayton picked up the assist.

The Bulls' Parker stopped 15 shots out of the 16 that he faced. North Iowa incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors. Alec Rounds made 27 saves for Cincinnati on 33 shots. The Swords incurred four minutes in penalty time with two minors.
