The Michigan Mountain Cats survived a determined comeback attempt by the Sugar Land Imperials on the way to a 6-4 win. Michigan made the score 6-2 on a goal by Max Vance at 1:35 in the third period, and Sugar Land got as close as 6-4 when Avik Bordak scored 11:46 into the third period. The Mountain Cats stifled the Imperials' power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. Michigan additionally got points from Kade Morrison, who also registered one goal and one assist, Guy Soulliere, who also tallied one goal and one assist, and Abram Prince, who also had one goal and one assist. More assists for Michigan came via Zach Collins, who had two and John Arms, Shawn Cornock, and Austin Buchholz, who each chipped in one. The Imperials were forced to rely heavily on their penalty kill unit throughout the game, as they racked up 58 penalty minutes.
