Peoria rolls over Dallas, 6-2

The Peoria Mustangs were firing on all cylinders against the Dallas Jr. Stars, and when the final buzzer sounded Mustangs emerged with a 6-2 win.

Peoria got the win behind a great game by Andrew Scofield, who had two goals and one assist. Scofield scored the first of his two goals at 17:30 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Peoria. Austin Wisely provided the assist. Scofield's next tally made the score 3-0 Peoria with 15:18 left in the second period. Brennan Anderson assisted on the tally.

The Mustangs' penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on five Dallas power plays. Peoria kept Dallas' goalie busy throughout the game, and Chris Mallon made 35 saves on 41 shots.

Peoria also got points from Nathan Chasteen, who also tallied one goal and one assist and Wisely, who also finished with one goal and one assist. Peoria also had goals scored by Sam Turner and Joshua Hart, who scored one goal each. In addition, Peoria received assists from Chance Homerin, who had two and Austin Ziakas and Levi Armstrong, who contributed one a piece.

The Jr. Stars excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in six chances.

Dallas was led by Maxim Ledyankin, who had one goal. Ledyankin scored 5:02 into the second period to make the score 3-1 Peoria. Raurie Petrich provided the assist. Dallas also got a goal from Colin South as well. Other players who recorded assists for Dallas were Jon Gibson and Robert Gervino, who each chipped in one.

Chance Kremer made 19 saves for the Mustangs on 21 shots. Peoria ended with 15 minutes in penalty time with five minors and one major. The Jr. Stars ended with 17 minutes in penalty time with six minors and one major.
