Zalecki's hat trick boosts Toledo over Battle Creek, 9-1

The Battle Creek Revolution could not stop the Toledo Cherokee's Tyler Zalecki, who tallied a hat trick in a 9-1 win.

Zalecki's first goal came 10:45 into the first period. He then added goals at 8:38 into the second and at 16:02 into the second.

Toledo excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in four chances. The Cherokee's offense rang up 46 shots on Battle Creek's net. Toledo's goal total was higher than its season average. The Cherokee average 3.0 goals per game.

Toledo additionally got points from Michael Pisanti, who also racked up one goal and one assist, Brody Duncan, who also had three goals and one assist, and Brett Podgorski, who also registered one goal and two assists. Austin Turner also scored for Toledo. In addition, Toledo received assists from Zachary Armstrong, who had two, Dominic Antonelli, who had three, and Noah Szenderski, Xavier Sudlow, and Kyler Omey, who each chipped in one.

The Revolution found themselves stymied offensively, and got off a mere 14 shots against Toledo's defense.

Nate Gay recorded 13 saves for the Cherokee. Toledo incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors. Battle Creek's Nathan Mortland stopped 37 shots out of the 46 that he faced. The Revolution incurred 16 minutes in penalty time with eight minors.
