Pittsburgh blows out Battle Creek, 7-0

The Pittsburgh Vengeance had a four-goal lead after two periods and cruised the rest of the way en route to a 7-0 win over the Battle Creek Revolution.

Pittsburgh was paced by Chris McCambridge, who grabbed one goal. McCambridge scored short handed 13:37 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Pittsburgh. A kneeing call on Cody Black put the Vengeance on the penalty kill.

Pittsburgh excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in three chances. The Vengeance's defensive play was more effective than usual against Battle Creek. Pittsburgh gives up 2.6 goals on average per game. The Revolution were unable to stop the Vengeance from sending pucks towards the net, and Pittsburgh eventually piled up 33 shots on goal. The Vengeance's goal total was higher than their season average. Pittsburgh averages 3.8 goals per game. The Vengeance got an offensive boost from their blueliners, who contributed two goals during the game.

Pittsburgh additionally got points from Lukas Friberger, who also racked up one goal and two assists and Joseph Randazzo, who also registered two goals and one assist. Pittsburgh also got a goal from Gus Peponidis as well. Other players who recorded assists for Pittsburgh were Tom Diffendal, who had one and Kevin Kenny, who had two.

Battle Creek could not stay out of the penalty box, as the team accrued 22 minutes in penalties during the game.

Tyler Geloneck rejected 21 shots on goal for Pittsburgh. The Vengeance incurred 16 minutes in penalty time with three minors. The Revolution's Tyler Babinski stopped 26 shots out of the 33 that he faced.
