The Chicago Junior Bulldogs came close to giving away a three-goal lead to the St. Louis Jr. Blues, but did just enough to escape with a 4-2 victory. Chicago led by three goals at one point and ended with the victory. The largest advantage in the game came when the Junior Bulldogs' Tyler Dalton's scored on the power play at 19:45 in the second period to put Chicago up 3-0. Dalton had two goals and one assist to lead the Junior Bulldogs. Chicago excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in four chances. The Junior Bulldogs kept St. Louis' goalie busy throughout the game, and Billy Hindle made 44 saves on 48 shots. Vince Bartkowiak also scored for Chicago. In addition, Chicago received assists from Matt Blaszkiewicz, Toms Taurins, Matt Kostopoulos, Luke Morin, Henry Hearon, and Zac Edwards, who each chipped in one. The Jr. Blues' offense operated below they season average. St. Louis puts an average of 4.3 pucks into the net per game. Chicago was unable to stop the Jr. Blues from sending pucks towards the net, and St. Louis eventually piled up 69 shots on goal. The Jr. Blues were helped by Tommy Heinzman, who grabbed one goal. Heinzman scored 2:25 into the third period to make the score 3-1 Chicago. Zane OBryan assisted on the tally. St. Louis also got a goal from Kyle Meeh as well. Other players who recorded assists for St. Louis were Andrew McGlynn and Mike Lozano, who contributed one a piece. Michael Krch recorded 67 saves for the Junior Bulldogs. Chicago incurred 14 minutes in penalty time with seven minors. St. Louis incurred 16 minutes in penalty time with eight minors.
