Three periods of regulation and an overtime session were not enough to settle matters as the Granite City Lumberjacks defeated the Twin City Steel in a shootout 3-2 (2-1 SO).

The two teams needed 18 turns to complete the shootout. Twin City got a shootout goal from Jerod Sabaska. In addition to the clincher, Granite City got a shootout goal from Drew Otto.

The Lumberjacks came back from a two-goal deficit to capture the victory. Granite City was down 2-0 after a goal by the Steel's Calvin Miska at 13:08 in the second period. The Lumberjacks knotted things up at 2-2 on a goal by Aidan Verbeke at 14:29 in the third period.
