Pittsburgh blows out Toledo, 4-1

The Pittsburgh Vengeance had a two-goal lead after two periods and cruised the rest of the way en route to a 4-1 win over the Toledo Cherokee.

Pittsburgh got the win thanks to a great game by Joseph Randazzo, who had one goal and two assists. Randazzo scored 10:41 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Pittsburgh. Tom Diffendal assisted on the tally.

The Vengeance's offense rang up 41 shots on Toledo's net.

Pittsburgh also got points from Kevin Kenny, who also tallied one goal and one assist and Diffendal, who also finished with one goal and two assists. Tyler Speis also scored for Pittsburgh. More assists for Pittsburgh came via Thomas Leistner, Michael Straub, and Oskar Thorsen, who contributed one a piece.

The Cherokee were led by Noah Szenderski, who scored the team's only goal. Szenderski scored on the power play 12:08 into the second period to make the score 3-1 Pittsburgh. Toledo had gotten the advantage when Pittsburgh's Thorsen was sent off for tripping. Zachary Armstrong provided the assist.

Jason Kumpfmiller recorded 22 saves for the Vengeance. Pittsburgh incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors. The Cherokee's Clay Horvath stopped 37 shots out of the 41 that he faced. Toledo incurred 14 minutes in penalty time with seven minors.
