Storch leads Granite City over Minnesota, 8-0

The Granite City Lumberjacks' Aaron Storch had a big offensive game, scoring one goal and contributing three assists in his team's 8-0 win over the Minnesota Flying Aces.

Storch scored on the power play 8:56 into the third period to make the score 5-0 Granite City. Granite City earned a power play opportunity when Nick Tolin was put in the box for hooking. Tim Brown provided the assist. Storch dished an assist on Zac Sikich's goal that made the score 2-0 Granite City at 2:28 into the second period. He then added assists on Sikich's goal at 6:02 into the third and on Sikich's goal at 19:12 into the third.

The Lumberjacks forced Minnesota goalie Mike Stumpf to work between the pipes, taking 40 shots. Granite City bested its season scoring average. The Lumberjacks have scored at the pace of 5.3 goals per game during the current campaign.

Granite City additionally got points from Billy Warren, who also finished with one goal and one assist. Granite City also had goals scored by Drew Otto, who had one and Luc Richardson, who had two. In addition, Granite City received assists from Morgan Martelle, who had two and Zach Voss, Gavin Porter, Mitchell Gwost, Brett Love, and David Horsmann, who each chipped in one.

Scott Murray rejected 15 shots on goal for Granite City. The Lumberjacks incurred four minutes in penalty time with two minors. Mike Stumpf made 32 saves for the Flying Aces on 40 shots. Minnesota incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors.
