Early goals doom Metro, falls to St. Louis, 9-3

The Metro Jets fell behind early, and the St. Louis Jr. Blues kept piling on the points on the way to a 9-3 victory.

Alexander Carlsson had two goals to lead St. Louis to victory. Carlsson scored at 6:04 into the first period to make the score 2-1 St. Louis and again while 8:18 into the first to make the score 3-1 St. Louis.

The Jr. Blues forced Jets' goalies to work in net, finishing with 31 shots and forcing 22 saves. Trevor Kalinowski made eight stops and Davide Mantovani made 14. St. Louis' goal total was higher than its season average. The Jr. Blues average 3.7 goals per game.

St. Louis also got points from Kyle Meeh, who also grabbed one goal and two assists to lead the team in points, Jiri Turbacik, who also racked up one goal and one assist, Mike Lozano, who also registered one goal and one assist, and Alex Klaesner, who also had one goal and one assist. St. Louis also had goals scored by Tommy Heinzman, Alexander Turin, and Kevin Gregory, who scored one goal each. More assists for St. Louis came via Adam Roeder, Andrew Kovacich, Andrew McGlynn, and Christian Argyros, who each chipped in one.

Metro was helped by Zach Mac Kay, who finished with one goal. Mac Kay scored 4:39 into the first period to make the score 1-1. Travis Baranowski provided the assist. Metro also got a goal from Kevin Shand as well. Other players who recorded assists for Metro were Brad Hepler, who had one and Vincent Scognamiglio, who had two.

Billy Hindle rejected 26 shots on goal for St. Louis. The Jr. Blues incurred 22 minutes in penalty time with six minors. The Jets incurred four minutes in penalty time with two minors.
