Horgas' big game bests Michigan in 7-1 Cleveland win

Stefan Horgas was all over the ice for the Cleveland Jr. Lumberjacks, as he tallied two goals and three assists in Cleveland's 7-1 win over the Michigan Mountain Cats.

Horgas' tallies came at 19:02 into the first period to make the score 2-0 Cleveland and 2:15 into the second to make the score 3-0 Cleveland.

The Jr. Lumberjacks were led by goalie Joseph Moza, who finished with 31 saves while allowing one goal. Moza certainly lowered his goals against average, which was 2.85 entering the contest.

Cleveland excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in four chances. The Jr. Lumberjacks' offense rang up 42 shots on Michigan's net. Cleveland found the back of the net more times than it usually has this season. The Jr. Lumberjacks average 3.7 goals per game.

Cleveland also got points from Jared Johnson, who also had two goals and one assist and Nick Balavich, who also racked up one goal and three assists. John Michael Barlow also scored for Cleveland. Other players who recorded assists for Cleveland were Kyle Menges, who had two and Mike Palasics, Jake Maier, and Zack Mlady, who contributed one a piece.

The Mountain Cats forced their penalty killing units to work especially hard during the game, picking up six minors and one major for 27 minutes in penalty time. Michigan had been averaging 19.0 minutes in penalties per game. The Mountain Cats' offense rang up 32 shots on Cleveland's net.

The Jr. Lumberjacks incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors. Michigan's Kevin OShea stopped 35 shots out of the 42 that he faced. For the Mountain Cats, Zach Collins was ejected from the game.
