Three periods of regulation and an overtime session were not enough to settle matters as the Dallas Jr. Stars defeated the Sugar Land Imperials in a shootout 4-3 (3-0 SO). The two teams needed seven turns to complete the shootout. Dallas' other shootout goals were scored by Cam Choate and Maxim Ledyankin.Tommy Stock was all over the ice for the Jr. Stars, as he grabbed two goals in the win. Stock scored short handed at 14:03 into the first period to make the score 1-1 and again while on the power play 13:39 into the second to make the score 2-2. Dallas stifled Sugar Land's power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. The Jr. Stars forced the Imperials goalie Matt Douglas to work between the pipes, taking 51 shots. Raurie Petrich also scored for Dallas. Other players who recorded assists for Dallas were Alex MacInnis, Alex Cyrenne, Ben Owen, Rutger Kesling, and Ledyankin, who contributed one a piece. Sugar Land kept Dallas' goalie busy throughout the game, and Chris Mallon made 28 saves on 31 shots. The Imperials were led by Avik Bordak, who finished with one goal and one assist. Bordak scored 9:57 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Sugar Land. Luke Simon assisted on the tally. Sugar Land additionally got points from Simon, who also tallied one goal and one assist. Sugar Land also got a goal from Yves Bader as well. In addition, Sugar Land received assists from Tucker Spooner, who had two and Zachary Blohm and Austin Givens, who each chipped in one. The Jr. Stars incurred 16 minutes in penalty time with eight minors. Douglas rejected 47 shots on goal for Sugar Land. The Imperials incurred 16 minutes in penalty time with eight minors.
