Marenis leads North Iowa over Breezy Point, 5-0

The North Iowa Bulls' Richie Marenis had a big offensive game, scoring two goals and contributing one assist in his team's 5-0 win over the Breezy Point North Stars.

Marenis' tallies came at 15 seconds into the first period to make the score 1-0 North Iowa and 6:02 into the first to make the score 2-0 North Iowa.

North Iowa was boosted by Chris Amsden, who turned in a shutout with 32 saves. Amsden certainly lowered his goals against average, which was 0.5 entering the contest.

Breezy Point's power play was ineffective against the Bulls' penalty kill, which allowed zero goals while shorthanded.

North Iowa forced its penalty killing units to work especially hard during the game, picking up 14 minors and three majors for 63 minutes in penalty time. The North Stars were unable to stop the Bulls from sending pucks towards the net, and North Iowa eventually piled up 47 shots on goal.
