Cleveland holds on for 4-2 win against Toledo

The Cleveland Jr. Lumberjacks survived a determined comeback attempt by the Toledo Cherokee on the way to a 4-2 win.

Cleveland made the score 4-1 on a goal by Tyler Pritt at 18:15 in the second period, and Toledo got as close as 4-2 when Tyler Zalecki scored 2:24 into the third period.

The Jr. Lumberjacks were led by Nick Balavich, who had one goal and one assist. Balavich scored 13:44 into the second period to make the score 3-1 Cleveland. Jared Johnson picked up the assist.

Cleveland additionally got points from Brendan Logan, who also registered one goal and one assist. Tyler Stockwell also scored for Cleveland. More assists for Cleveland came via Avery Huibregtse, who had two and Alex Buban and Anthony Strollo, who contributed one a piece.

The Cherokee forced Cleveland goalie Tyler Jansen to work between the pipes, taking 31 shots.

In addition, Toledo received assists from David Bogart, Brody Duncan, Kyler Omey, and Brett Podgorski, who each chipped in one.

Tyler Jansen made 29 saves for the Jr. Lumberjacks on 31 shots. Cleveland incurred 20 minutes in penalty time with five minors. Clay Horvath recorded 19 saves for Toledo. The Cherokee incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors.
