Cleveland rolls over Toledo, 6-3

The Toledo Cherokee had trouble finding ways to stop the Cleveland Jr. Lumberjacks, which beat Cherokee, 6-3.

Cleveland was led by Ben Urbas, who racked up one goal. Urbas scored 13:27 into the second period to make the score 4-2 Cleveland. Jared Johnson assisted on the tally.

The Jr. Lumberjacks' goal total was higher than their season average. This season, Cleveland averages 3.5 goals per contest. The Jr. Lumberjacks could not stay out of the penalty box, as the team accrued 26 minutes in penalties during the game.

Cleveland also got points from Stefan Horgas, who also had one goal and one assist and Johnson, who also tallied one goal and two assists to lead the team in points. Eli Lynn also scored for Cleveland. Other players who recorded assists for Cleveland were Tyler Stockwell, who had three and Alex Buban, Avery Huibregtse, John Michael Barlow, Jake Maier, and Tyler Pritt, who contributed one a piece.

Toledo got an offensive boost from its blueliners, who contributed three goals during the game.

The Cherokee were helped by Matt Trautlein, who registered one goal. Trautlein scored 10:00 into the second period to make the score 3-2 Cleveland. Xavier Sudlow provided the assist. Toledo also got a goal from David Bogart as well. In addition, Toledo received assists from Kyler Omey, who had two and Dominic Antonelli, Brody Duncan, and Hudson Sabin, who each chipped in one.

Cleveland's Joseph Moza stopped 19 shots out of the 22 that he faced. The Jr. Lumberjacks registered two goals on six power play opportunities. Cleveland ran into serious disciplinary problems during the contest, and Lucas Mickelson was ejected from the game. Toledo's starting goalie, Aaron Callan, made 16 saves and finished with the loss before he was taken out in favor of Clay Horvath, who stopped six shots. The Cherokee incurred 16 minutes in penalty time with eight minors.
