Hull, Topeka blank Dallas, 4-0

Jude Hull made 35 saves to complete the shutout and led the Topeka Capitals to a 4-0 win against the Dallas Jr. Stars.

Topeka's penalty kill excelled, as the Capitals gave up zero goals despite allowing seven power plays.

Topeka was led by Yu Kikosaka, who finished with one goal and one assist. Kikosaka scored 7:00 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Topeka. Jaydn Munnelly picked up the assist.

The Capitals stifled Dallas' power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. Topeka's defensive play was more effective than usual against the Jr. Stars. The Capitals allow 3.0 goals per game.

Topeka additionally got points from Nick White, who also registered one goal and one assist, Munnelly, who also grabbed one goal and one assist, and Georgy Ostapchuk, who also finished with one goal and one assist. Other players who recorded assists for Topeka were Kole Hudson, who had two and Nick Manney and Tyler Brady, who each chipped in one.

Dallas was held below its usual level of production. The Jr. Stars average 3.3 goals per game. Topeka was unable to stop Dallas from sending pucks towards the net, and the Jr. Stars eventually piled up 35 shots on goal.

The Capitals incurred 16 minutes in penalty time with eight minors. Dallas' Chris Mallon stopped 26 shots out of the 30 that he faced. The Jr. Stars incurred 18 minutes in penalty time with nine minors.
