Twin City wins tough contest against Minnesota, 5-3

In a game where neither team could get a cushion, the Twin City Steel escaped with a 5-3 victory over the Minnesota Flying Aces.

No lead was more than two goals during the contest, and the winning goal was scored by Chase Myers-Beck at 6:59 of the third period.

Twin City was led by Myers-Beck, who had one goal and one assist.

The Steel were sparked by Myers-Beck, who finished with one goal and one assist.

Twin City racked up the penalties in the contest, and ended with six minors and two majors for 32 minutes in penalty time. The Steel surpassed its season average of 24.0 penalty minutes per game. Twin City's offense rang up 35 shots on Minnesota's net. The Steel surpassed their usual scoring output this season. Twin City averages 2.6 goals per game.

Twin City also got points from Tony Arias, who also tallied one goal and one assist and Jace Childs, who also racked up one goal and two assists to lead the team in points. Ben Ihrie also scored for Twin City. Other players who recorded assists for Twin City were Isaac Hale and Jackson Germaine, who each chipped in one and Tyler Lodin and Garrett Nelson, who contributed two a piece.

The Flying Aces were often in penalty trouble, as it ended with 10 minors and one major for 25 minutes in penalty time.

Minnesota was helped by Jake Mullendore, who grabbed two goals. Mullendore scored the first of his two goals at 15:37 into the first period to make the score 1-1. Tyler Gallagher picked up the assist. Mullendore's next tally made the score 2-1 Minnesota with 16:33 left in the second period. AJ Gullickson provided the assist. Minnesota also got a goal from Jordan Forschen as well. In addition, Minnesota received assists from Blair Seitz and Jack Anderholm, who each chipped in one.

Germaine recorded 25 saves for the Steel. Twin City registered one goal on six power play opportunities. For the Steel, Ryan Carriveau was ejected from the game. Mike Stumpf made 30 saves for the Flying Aces on 35 shots. Minnesota registered one goal on three power play opportunities.
